Publicity picked as General Partner for an exhibition at the 6th Moscow Biennale

Publicity was picked as the General Partner for ‘Shut Down’, an exhibition that was held from September 25 to October 4 as part of the 6th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art. The exhibition introduced a new name to the public, that of its artist Vlad Nezabudkin, and during the event made the top 7 exhibitions of the week in Art Magazine’s rating.

The exhibition’s title ‘Shut Down’ had to do with the relevant and socially important issue of layoffs. For many people work provides an important opportunity to find personal fulfilment and self-respect. We spend most of our lives at work, so what happens in people’s minds when they face the prospect of losing that nice and comfy job that they’ve had for years?

The Shut Down project was about an artist’s observations of the emotions experienced by every employee that gets the sack and is expelled from the comfortable environment of their job into the unwelcoming outside world.

‘Art is the best means of communication. Following our motto of Communications of Leaders we support leaders’ projects. We took an interest in Vlad Nezabudkin not just because he uses a very modern method for capturing images that relies almost exclusively on whatever materials are available at hand, but also because of his achievements: his debut project was included in the parallel program of the 6th Moscow Biennale,’ Ian Khanov, Managing Director of Publicity, noted.
