Yan Khanov

Ian_colorHe has been employed in the communication sector since 2000 and joined the agency in 2002.

He is responsible for agency’s strategic development and key customer relations.

He graduated from the Department of Journalism, Moscow State University and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), and completed the MBA marketing course at the Academy of National Economy at the Government of the Russian Federation.

He is fluent in Russian and Spanish.

He has a strong track record of working with US communications agencies as Russian press journalist.

In 2004, he was appointed Managing Partner and General Director. In 2005, he reorganized Publicity Group with a key focus on four areas – political communication, business communication, publishing, video production and animation. In 2007, he generated agency’s basic business communication practices in cooperation with leading British communication consultants, including consumer relations (FMCG), government relations, and public relations in B2B communications.

In 2008, the agency joined ECCO International Network headquartered in London and bringing together 30 independent agencies worldwide located in Europe, Africa, Southern and Northern America and Australia.

In 2012, he was employed as an advisor to Minister at the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation and later promoted to the position of undersecretary (of Andrey Ramovich Belousov) for public relations and mass media. He managed the information subdivision and reorganized a communication unit by subordinating press service and the Internet communication department to Under Minister and Minister.

He supervised the information sector and relations with the Russian Government and press secretary of the Chairman of the Government, Deputy Government Chief of Staff, Presidential Administration and press secretary of President, and federal and municipal executive bodies of the Russian Federation.

He was responsible for Ministry’s information policy and press exposure of Minister’s activities and strategic communication programs and information concepts.

In 2013, he was appointed undersecretary of Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukayev.

In 2014, he joined the agency as Managing Partner.
